The Sanctuary of Fatima, in Cova da Iria, is a vast pilgrimage complex that celebrates the apparitions of Our Lady to the three shepherd children (Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta) in 1917. Centered on the Chapel of the Apparitions (the heart of the sanctuary), it is surrounded by a large square with the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary (containing the tomb of the visionaries) and the modern Basilica of the Holy Trinity.

 It welcomes millions of faithful and features spaces such as the Monument to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Great Holm Oak, serving as a place of faith, prayer, and the dissemination of the message of Fatima.

        Main Elements of the Sanctuary:

• Chapel of the Apparitions: The central point, built on the exact spot where Our Lady appeared, housing the image of the Virgin.
• Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary: ​​Baroque style, with a bell tower, flanked by a colonnade, where the shepherd children are buried.
• Basilica of the Holy Trinity: A modern, circular church, designed to accommodate large crowds, combining light and technology.
• Prayer Area: A vast esplanade that connects the main places of worship, capable of receiving hundreds of thousands of people.
• Monument to the Sacred Heart of Jesus: A large monument in the center of the enclosure.
• High Cross: A monumental cross that stands out on the horizon of the sanctuary.
• Places of the Apparitions: Also includes Loca do Cabeço (where the Angel appeared) and Aljustrel (houses of the visionaries)
