It is on the banks of the Mondego River that we begin the tour: Coimbra. 

Known for its University, one of the oldest in Europe, this earned it the status of “City of Students”. 

The University complex includes the “Biblioteca Joanina”, the pinnacle of Portuguese Baroque and considered one of the richest European libraries, the “Chapel of St. Michael the Archangel” and the “Royal Palace”.

On our walking tour of Coimbra, nothing will be left unvisited: Sé Velha, Rua Quebra Costas, Torre Almedina, Igreja de Sta. Cruz are just some of the places… not even the Pastéis de Sta. Clara will be left untasted.
